A sensitive and poignant tone poem for solo piano
The genesis of Soliloquy was a long one – somewhere around two to three years. It began sometime after my youngest daughter moved to the other side of the world to live and I found myself in long periods of solitary introspection. I had much work to do in coming to terms with the void left by her absence and my inner dialogue found its voice in this music. Soliloquy then, is my pain, my loss, my tears but it is also my acceptance and ultimate peace.
Grading: Approx 7th Grade AMEB/ANZCA
